Beavers Bend Folk Festival & Craft Show
Head to the Broken Bow area to the enjoy the fall foliage at one of Choctaw Country’s premiere events, The Beavers Bend Folk Festival & Craft Show. Take a step back in time with turn-of-the-century demonstrations, hands on exhibits, barnyard petting zoo, traditional folk music, and more. Exhibitors and nearly 70 vendors will feature crafts and skills such as candlemaking, woodturning, the making of lye soap, knife making, quilting, broom making, paper making and blacksmithing. At the courtyard of the Forest Heritage Center children can enjoy live storytelling, a petting zoo with plenty of furry, kid-friendly creatures, and puppet shows with handmade paper puppets. Folk ensembles set the mood with the twang of banjos, the wail of fiddles and the ring of dulcimer strings. So grab a glass of sarsaparilla and trek to the melodies of the instruments as you take in the colors and sounds of the old days on your way to a train or hayride. The Folk Festival is an experience you and your family won’t soon forget!
