Spiro Mounds

Spiro Mounds is the only prehistoric Native American archaeological site in Oklahoma open to the public. The 150-acre site, located on the south bend of the Arkansas river has nearly two miles of interpretive trails, including a nature trail, that will take you on a journey through the history of the prehistoric Spiro people and how they influenced the entire Southeast. With your journey around the mounds, explore the interpretive exhibits and watch an introductory slide program to learn about the area. Come experience the mystery and the history of Spiro Mounds!
